The Gaetz Brook Greenway is located in Mi’kma’ki, the ancestral and traditional lands of the Mi’kmaq people. As a land-based organization, SATA Trails Society acknowledges the Peace and Friendship Treaties signed in this Territory and recognizes that we are all Treaty People.
Welcome
Welcome to the SATA Trails Society! Since 2015, we’ve been a volunteer-driven nonprofit dedicated to maintaining 6.8 km of a non-motorized greenway for locals and visitors alike to walk, run or cycle. Thanks to the hard work of our volunteers and generous support from Halifax, Trans Canada Trails, and the Nova Scotia Provincial Government, the Gaetz Brook Greenway remains a beautiful, accessible, and safe space for recreation and active transportation. Join us in exploring and preserving this cherished trail while safeguarding the local ecosystem and wildlife habitats! Community engagement is at the heart of what we do. Through events like guided trail walks, cleanup days, and educational workshops, we aim to inspire a deeper connection between people, nature and active transportation. These activities not only bring the community together but also help to raise awareness about the importance of sustaining green spaces for future generations. Whether you’re a long-time supporter or a first-time visitor, there’s always an opportunity to get involved and make a difference!
