The Gaetz Brook Greenway is located in Mi’kma’ki, the ancestral and traditional lands of the Mi’kmaq people. As a land-based organization, SATA Trails Society acknowledges the Peace and Friendship Treaties signed in this Territory and recognizes that we are all Treaty People.

Welcome to the SATA Trails Society! Since 2015, we have been a volunteer-driven nonprofit dedicated to maintaining 6.8 km of non-motorized greenway for locals and visitors to walk, run, and cycle.
Thanks to the hard work of our volunteers and the generous support of Halifax, Trans Canada Trails, and the Nova Scotia Provincial Government, the Gaetz Brook Greenway remains a beautiful, accessible, and safe space for recreation and active transportation.
Join us in exploring and preserving this cherished trail while protecting the local ecosystem and wildlife habitats. Community engagement is at the heart of everything we do. Through guided trail walks, our Halloween Walk the Trail event, cleanup days, and educational workshops, we inspire a deeper connection between people, nature, and active transportation.
